Effexor and Phentermine - ok together??? |
|---|---|
| I am on Effexor (75mg) and am thinking about taking Phentermine to help with weightloss. Is it safe to take these two drugs together? (Pharmacists, Nurses or Doctors, please)

| You had better check with webmd.com for drug interactions |

| The standard recommendation is don't mix any herbs and prescription medications together. There is very little good research in this area, and so, it is better to be safe than sorry. |

| Generally yes, they can be taken together.
Possible interactions: Adverse effects of either drug could be increased. Both rely on the liver to get out of your body. When they comete, one will lose. The levels of one in your blood will go up. That can be bad because you may experience more effects and side effects associated with that drug. Be sure to look over the side effects of both carefully. note-- Phentermine is widely available online. BE SURE the pharmacy is legitamate. You don't want to end up with Pentermine from Canada via Argentina, Bosnia, Nigeria, and Joe Blow's cookshed in the jungle. |

| When it comes to medications mixing you really need to do your own research. Trusting common yahoo's to tell you to not or you will over dose if you mix drugs is silly. You can go on to any pharmacy site like walgreens, rite aid, longs and they have a medication interaction chart. Just type in the two names and see for yourself if you can or can not. Who knows what is reported on her when they answer..This is your health you are talking about here. |
