Addicted to Phentermine! What to do? |
|---|---|
| I took Phentermine for 3 mos and lost 30lbs. I had more energy than I ever had in my entire life! After my doc took me off I was so tired, hungry, and impulsive. I even started smoking. I think about Phentermine all the time (4 mos later). Why am I stil craving it and what can I take in place of it? By the way, I've never been addicted to anything in my life.

| Phentermine is prescribed for a short term period of treatment only; which is recommended to be, 6-12 weeks. Phentermine should not be taken for a long period of time. Because the effect tends to decrease after a few weeks, this medicine is useful only during the first few weeks of a weight-loss program. If you think this medicine is not working properly after you have taken it for a few weeks, do not increase the dosage on your own. Instead, check with your doctor. He/She may decide to change your dosage, or take you off of it for while to get your tolerance level for it back down.
Take this medicine only as directed by your doctor. Do not take more of it, or take it more often, and do not take it for a longer time than your doctor prescribed. If too much is taken, it may cause unwanted effects or become habit-forming, leading to a phentermine addiction. I suggest you go see your doctor, or just not take it anymore and your addiction will eventually stop. |

| Phentermine:
Please read: What is the most important information I should know about phentermine? Use caution when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. Phentermine may cause dizziness, blurred vision, or restlessness, and it may hide the symptoms of extreme tiredness. If you experience these effects, avoid hazardous activities. Phentermine is habit forming. You can become physically and psychologically dependent on this medication, and withdrawal effects may occur if you stop taking it suddenly after several weeks of continuous use. Talk to your doctor about stopping this medication gradually. Do not crush, chew or open any "once-daily" phentermine tablets or capsules. Swallow them whole. According to an article I read, when you stop taking the drug, you gain the weight back. I lost 112 pounds by losing it slowly. I was happy at losing 1-5 pounds a month. It took me 1.5 years to lose it but it is gone. I exercised daily so that I would not have the flabby skin. I started out only being able to walk 7 minutes and gave up that day. I went back out the next day and walked 15 minutes. I can now jog and love to jog 3-5 days per week up to 1 hour. You can do this ! non prescription phentermine See web on people who felt that they were suckered into “non prescription phentermine” http://www.healthboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=430053 |
