Why am I gaining weight? |
|---|---|
| Last year I was on phentermine and lost 27 pounds, and the weight stayed off for about 4 months. But then we started trying for a kid and my doctor said no dieting or heavy exercise. It seems like I'm gaining 1-2 pounds a week while eating healthy! I'm really following the pyrimid about protein, calcium, and grains, which my doctor says are the key things. I walk about 30 minutes a day, too. What am I doing wrong?

| Your doctor said no heavy exercise? I doubt that.
You should be getting 30 minutes of cardio (faster than walking) 3x per week and 45 minutes of weight training 2x per week. |

| start running 3 miles every other day almost none stop, just to break once for a minute or two.
If you have mountains near by, start hiking every weekend after jogging every other day then moderatly go biking every once in a while, and go swimming on occasion. this helped for me, for three years stright. it gets fun after a while. |

| Sounds like your body is trying to store up a reserve of fuel, expecting you to "starve it " again. You want a healthy baby, so do as your doctor advises, he'll be monitoring your weight and progress, and you can lose the weight gained during pregnancy in a healthy way after you deliver. |

| Heavy exercise means weight lifting and marathon running, I think. Light cardio should be fine. |
